I'm forever battling between simplicity and statement and I think it's so important to get the perfect balance. Without one or the other you can go from drab to drag in 30 seconds.
For me it's all about picking up simple staple items locally on the high street and sourcing the most amazing unique and bespoke accessories in markets and online. If we all went to our favourite high street store and picked out our same cut patterned dress as everyone else in the city we'd all be clones, purely judged by our words and not the personality and creativity we can portray through imagery.
Discovering new online boutiques and designers who sell beautiful statement pieces really is a celebration for me! When you find that perfect piece you know you'll wear time and time again you can vamp up a plain tee and jeans for a day to dinner look or adding it to that floor sweeping dress to give you that va va voom and make you the empress you was destined to be.
